Proving it is definitely #MoreThanFruitAndVeg, Fowler Welch has secured a new contract with Wensleydale Creamery, the makers of the famous Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese.
The multi award-winning supply chain expert will provide the iconic cheese-maker with bulk storage for its maturing cheese, as well as distribution services between two of its manufacturing sites in Hawes and near Ripon, North Yorkshire.
The new contract was awarded following a full tender process after the customer identified a need for storage of approximately 1500 pallets split between ambient and temperature-controlled environments.
Fowler Welch’s fully BRC Accredited facility in Washington (AA standard) is ideally suited to these unique requirements, with the capacity to store and distribute both temperature regimes under one roof.
Georgina Parker, supply chain manager for Wensleydale Creamery, said:
“Not only does the dual-temperature facility suit our needs perfectly, the team have gone above and beyond to provide a solution for us. We are incredibly impressed by the service so far and look forward to working with the team, especially during the busy festive season.”
Fowler Welch’s state-of-the-art IT allows for full systems integration and as part of the contract has made significant investment at the site, not only in the storage and racking equipment but also the infrastructure.
Nick Hay, CEO Fowler Welch, said:
“This contract win is another great example of how we listen, respond and deliver for our customers, providing bespoke solutions tailored to meet their needs.
“We pride ourselves on delighting the customer, which is why we invest in our sites and new technologies, and how we successfully build long-lasting relationships with our clients. I’m very much looking forward to providing a sustainable solution for this iconic firm.”
