Matthew Downes, IT Director of Fowler Welch, gained a degree in Computer Science from Kent University before spending eight years with Procter & Gamble. During this time Matthew also successfully completed several Head Office assignments, including a two-year position in Switzerland with responsibility for the commercial and consumer IT systems for Procter & Gamble’s paper business. His final role with Procter & Gamble was to oversee all purchase-to-payment systems for the EMEA region.
More recently, Matthew took up the position as Business Systems Manager with Weetabix in Kettering. In this role, he oversaw the successful implementation of the company’s Manhattan warehouse system and was also responsible for IT aspects of outsourcing warehouse and distribution functions to a third party supplier. Following this, a further spell abroad saw him assume the role of IT Director for Weetabix’s North American operations, based in Boston, USA, for two years.
Having held senior positions with these two major blue chip companies, both in the UK and overseas, Matthew is now fully engaged setting and delivering the IT strategy for Fowler Welch.
